A weekly newsletter for all your intellectual, spiritual, and physical needs
Hello all! Welcome to Volume 189.1 of Dovi’s Digest.
Hello all! Welcome to Volume 1 of Tanya’s Two Cents. Or Tanya’s Tidbits. I’m still working on the name.
I know this is not what you are here for. You’re here for Dovi’s witty personal reflection, highlighted articles, facts, quotes, etc. (all meticulously checked by yours truly btw).
But unfortunately, Dovi has taken ill, so you get my personal preamble. The truth is, I’ve always thought about what I would do in this moment. Don’t get me wrong, I never hope that Dovi is sick and can’t write it, I just sometimes hope… he forgot or he was so busy living his best life that he had no time. It’s like how in school, you would never wish your teacher was sick, but you kinda hoped they would have an appointment and you could just chill for the day. Now I’m sitting here as Dovi has irresponsibly left writing the Digest until the night before, and my moment has come.
I’m away right now, and I’ve had the best time. And I think to myself, why don’t I journal? I’ve had great experiences, funny experiences, and I should be writing all of this down. Then I remember why I don’t journal - I find that it becomes a commitment. For all of 4 days, I sit and write every thought down. I document the weather, and exactly what I ate, who said what and how I felt about it. And those four days are amazing. And then I get tired. I feel guilty for not journalling, but at the same time it feels like a chore.
This is why I admire Dovi so much. It takes discipline, commitment, and dedication to do this every week, and carefully curate each segment. Sometimes life gets hectic. And each week, the digest is engaging, interactive and multi-faceted. I think we take this for granted.
Anyway, I have followed the format (somewhat) and I have included all (some) of the elements of the Digest (and added my own section) . I hope you enjoy it.
All my love,
Tanya
